A celebration of fall, including heritage displays, Halloween costumes, and fun activities and treats. Families decorate tables, their vehicle trunks, and themselves in fall themes. Some bring treats to share.

Nonperishable food items are collected to help those in need to have a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner. Families are welcome to assemble the baskets at the school in the evening at this fun event. The PTA also contributes a gift card to a local food store so families can purchase their turkey and other items they may need to complete their meal.

A portion of all sales will go to the CLES PTA, and we will earn "Scholastic Dollars" to go to the CLES teachers and staff for classroom books and supplies.

  • CLES Science Fair

The CLES PTA sponsors an annual Science Fair. All students (K-5) are encouraged to participate. Come up with a question, think of a hypothesis, develop an experiment, collect data, come to a conclusion, and then present that information at the Fair! Each project will be reviewed by a volunteer judge and given constructive feedback. A project can be presented by one, two, or three students. It's always a fun night of learning!

An evening with the Maryland Science Center provides and opportunity to participate in hands-on activities using the engineer design process and learn about STEM related careers. Some activities in the past have included: Make a bridge stronger (civil engineering), assemble a flashlight to reveal a hidden picture (electrical engineering), use blueprints to build different objects (civil engineering), measure wind speed then put the wind to work (mechanical engineering) and more! This is not a PTA event, it is coordinated by the teachers and staff of CLES.

Students may bring in their donated school supply into school during the collection time in May. The donation is then dropped off in a box labeled "Stuff the Bus" located in the CLES lobby. This community outreach projects works with Prepare for Success, a program in Howard County that works year round to collect school supplies for students in our community.
